The speaker at the panel was Assoc. Prof. Dokuz Eylul University, Department of Public Administration, IIBF. Dr. Yunus Emre Özer, Turkey is in the position of a destination and transit country in the migration movement, stressed that it has embraced refugees from the Republican period to the present day, and has behaved in a way that does not leave them alone. He also expressed Turkey's hospitality and embrace to immigrants who came to Turkey after the First Gulf War and the repression regime in Bulgaria.

Touching on the issue of mass migration of Syrians to Turkey, Özer said that peace will be established in Syria in the coming years and Syrians in Turkey will return to their countries voluntarily. He stressed the importance of intensifying services and that local governments should be complementary actors in the integration process.

Adem Karakas, talking about the causes of internal migration in Turkey, the panel contributed to the study of a special field in Eastern Anatolia. Karakas stressed that in Turkish-Islamic culture, we do not have a character to say "no" to visitors, looking at the ancestry of the people living in our country, the majority of people come from nomadic families, so Turkey is a country living with migrants.

Stating that the internal migration movements in Turkey will be classified into time sections after 1923-1950, 1950-1980, 1980-2000 and 2000, Karakas, Marmara and the Aegean regions with high income rates, rural-urban migration is very common, especially in Izmir and stressed that immigrants have gathered in cities such as Istanbul because of the large areas of employment. He said that one of the most important reasons for internal migration is economic, and in addition to economic reasons, there are security issues, dynamics such as education and health.

Aydın Adnan Menderes University, Söke Management Faculty - Department of Public Administration Dr. Eren Alper Yilmaz drew attention to the impact of mass migration after the Arab Spring in both Europe and Turkey, and assessed the migration issue in terms of both international politics and domestic dynamics. Yilmaz closed the borders against refugees from the Middle East, built high walls, forced those who entered the border to return, and did not hesitate to use harsh force if necessary. Instead of pursuing a policy of humanistic values ​​by excluding immigration, Europe is a problematic mechanism that combines real political reflexes. said he developed

Yilmaz stressed that Turkey hosts mass migration flows within the framework of the "Open Door Policy" and provides Syrians with many legal rights to integrate into our country, from education to health care to the right to work in shelters. He said it would be more rational for Syrians to see their presence inside the country as an opportunity, and that some state policies should be developed in order for both Turkish society and the perceptions of Syrians to return to a positive course.
