Yesterday was 09 August 2021 according to the Gregorian calendar…

According to the Hijri calendar, it is 01 Muharram 1443.

So the first day of a new year...

Happy Hijri New Year, which we have welcomed with great joy and happiness for 1399 years!

A very important historical event took place on the day of the start of the Hijri New Year.

Great Journey...

Hijri New Year cannot be understood without knowing this.

The great and historical journey of 450 km, made on the back of a camel, in the scorching sun and in pursuit of the blindfolded enemy, took place 1399 years ago today.

With the rising of the prophetic sun, the infidels, who saw that the idols were abandoned and gradually faded into history, unfurled the banner of struggle against the Muslims who wanted to abolish idolatry.

Seeing that Islam was spreading at a rapid pace and that people had abandoned idolatry and became Muslims, the unbelievers felt like they had been struck by lightning and began to oppress and torture the believers.

Day by day, the persecution and torture of the infidels against Muslims because of their faith became unbearable.

Islam was spreading like an avalanche among the tribes, and Muslims were gaining strength day by day.

Meanwhile, a fierce war broke out between the tribes of Aws and Khazraj, who were still pagan, in Medina, and both sides had suffered great losses. In history, this is called the "Buas" war.

Both tribes were quite tired from this war. The whole people were in a complete depression and no one was sure of their fate.

Misery, poverty, wretchedness had reached its peak.

The poor and the weak were oppressed and groaning in poverty.

They were looking for a savior who would put an end to this situation and this war, eliminate the enmity between them, ensure that they live in friendship and brotherhood, and save them from all crises.

During the pilgrimage season, a group of Khazraj tribesmen came to Mecca from Medina and introduced the last prophet Muhammad Mustafa (S.A.S), who invited people to the belief of oneness, Islam and the Qur'an, to the people of Medina.

The following year, again during the pilgrimage season, there were people from the Aws and Khazraj tribes who came to Mecca.

Twelve people, including five of them who were Muslims before, had secretly met and pledged allegiance to our Master, the Prophet (S.A.S) in a place called Aqaba on the edge of Mecca, late at night.

Ubade B Samit (r.a.), one of those present in the allegiance and the first Muslim from Medina, says:

“I am the first person to pledge allegiance to Aqaba, we were 12 people. We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah (as it was done in the conquest of Mecca). Even though there was a group of Companions around him, the Messenger of Allah said to us:

Please pledge allegiance to me not to associate anything with Allah, not to steal, not to commit adultery, not to kill your children, not to slander anyone, not to lie, not to oppose any good deed. Allah has taken the reward of those of you who keep their word, and has prepared Paradise for them.” he commanded. We promised, we took an oath.” (Muhammed and Islam, M.Asım KÖKSAL)

Regarding allegiance, our Almighty Lord states in the Qur'an:

“(My Messenger), surely those who pledge allegiance to you are only sworn allegiance to Allah. (Although your hand is over the hands of those who have it) Allah's hand is over their hands. So, whoever breaks (this covenant) breaks it to his own detriment. And whoever fulfills his covenant with Allah, He (Allah) will give him a great reward.” (Surat al-Fatih, 10) commands.

Also for women's allegiance:

“O prophet! When believing women pledge to you (by surrender) not to associate anything with Allah, not to steal, not to commit adultery, not to kill their (daughter) children, not to invent a crime between their hands and feet, and also when they promise you (by surrender) not to rebel against you about any good, accept their allegiances (words and submissions). Ask Allah's forgiveness for them. Because He is Forgiving, Compassionate "(Surat al-Mumtahina, 12) commands.

Upon the request of the new Muslims who pledged allegiance, our Prophet (PBUH) sent Mus'ab b Umayr with him to Medina to explain Islam to them and teach them the rules of religion.

With the efforts of this person, Islam spread with lightning speed in Medina.

In the 13th year of Bi'set, many people from Medina came to Mecca to visit. 75 Muslims from Medina, two of whom were women, had secretly met our Prophet (PBUH) to pay allegiance to him and gathered at the same place called Aqaba at the agreed time.

First, Abbas, the uncle of our Prophet (PBUH), made a speech. Then the Medinans said:

“O Messenger of Allah, we listened to Abbas's words. You take the oath you want for Allah, for your own soul, from us. We are ready.” After saying that, they all together said to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH):

“In times of trouble and great times, they promised to obey everywhere and always, to always speak the truth, not to fear anything in the way of Allah, and to protect our Prophet (PBUH) from the evil of the enemies, and they pledged allegiance to the Prophet (PBUH).”

At the request of the Prophet (PBUH), they elected 12 representatives among themselves. Three of these representatives were from the Evs tribe and nine of them were from the Khazraj tribe.

After that, they invited the Prophet (PBUH) to Medina to protect them from the evil of the polytheists.

After this historical invitation, Muslims in Mecca, in order to get rid of the cruelty, torture and evil of the unbelievers, and to be protected from the evils of the unbelievers, took the permission of the Prophet (S.A.S) and migrated to Medina, leaving their home, country, property and wealth for the sake of Allah.

When the unbelievers saw that Muslims migrated in groups of three or five from time to time and that the idea of idolatry was destroyed and replaced by the Islamic faith, they decided to apply the method of "drying the water from the beginning".

For this reason, the blessed household of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) would be besieged by armed gangs and he would be killed when He went out.

Our Prophet (PBUH) was informed of these insidious plans of the unbelievers through the Divine Revelation, and he was now definitely allowed to emigrate. Two days before the Hijrah, he came to Hazrat Abu Bakr (r.a.) and explained the situation and said that they would migrate.

Hazrat Abu Bakr (r.a.), who was very happy that he would achieve this great honor, gave one of the two big camels he had prepared beforehand to the Prophet (PBUH) as a gift and left the other to himself.

When the polytheists besieged the Prophet's household at night, the Prophet (S.A.S) handed over the relics with him to Hazrat Ali (k.v) and asked him to distribute them to their owners, and also asked him to get into his own bed and put the green cover on him to keep the unbelievers busy.

Hazrat Ali (k.v) willingly accepted this dangerous task, which was life-threatening, without any doubt or hesitation.

While the spider-headed infidels were keeping watch on the siege in front of the door of the House of Saadet, our Prophet (PBUH) read the chapter of Yasin and walked out of them.

The unbelievers did not see him, although they looked, and although they listened, they did not hear that he was gone.

While the infidels wait in vain until morning to realize their abominable goals; The Beloved of Allah and his faithful friend, Abu Bakr (r.a.), had embarked on the sacred and historical journey of emigration that would be instrumental in the beginning of the calendar in the future, and they had covered a long distance.

During the journey, Hazrat Abu Bakr (r.a.) sometimes walked behind our Beloved Prophet (PBUH), sometimes in front of him, sometimes on his right, sometimes on his left.

Our Prophet (PBUH):

“What is going on, Abu Bakr, why are you sometimes behind, sometimes ahead, sometimes on my right and sometimes on my left?” When he asked, the example of loyalty was Hz. Abu Bakr (r.a.):

"- O Messenger of Allah, sometimes it comes from my heart feeling, I think that we will suffer an attack from behind. I'm protecting you so that the arrows shot don't touch you. Sometimes, the feeling that we will be attacked from the front arises in my heart. I'm getting ahead. I'm walking ahead so that no harm will come to you. Sometimes I feel that we will be attacked by such an attack from the right or the left. That's why I sometimes walk on your right and sometimes on your left.” gave the answer.

In this way, they climbed to the mountain of Sevr and entered a cave to rest there and to surprise the unbelievers.

Abdullah, son of Hazrat Abu Bakr (r.a.), would go down to the city during the day and bring them the food prepared by his brother Asma with the news at night. Amir b Fuhayra, the slave of Hazrat Abu Bakr (r.a.), used to take his sheep there and offer milk to the Master of the Universe (S.A.S) and his faithful friend in order to lose track of Abdullah when he returned.

In the morning, in the place where they would find the master of the universe in the blessed bed of the Fahr-i Alam, the unbelievers were stunned when they saw Hazrat Ali (k.v.).

The infidels, blindfolded and wielded with swords, mobilized to find him. At one point, they even came to the side of the cave.

So much so that when footsteps were heard from inside, Hazrat Abu Bakr (r.a.) was very excited, as a requirement of mature faith, loyalty and sincerity, with the concern that the blessed person of the Master of the Universe would be harmed rather than himself, and said:

"- Unbelievers will see us, O Messenger of Allah"

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh), whose feelings of compassion and mercy erupted like a volcano in his person, said the following to relieve his anxiety and excitement:

“- Don't be sad. Because Allah (with the help of Allah) is with us.”

According to the records of the books of Siyer, three miracles took place at this time:

*A tree grew green at the entrance of the cave,

*A bird made a nest on this tree and laid an egg.

*Spiders have completely closed the entrance to the door with their elegant webs.

When one of the polytheists wanted to enter the cave, Umayya b Khalaf called out to him:

“- What are you doing there, are you out of your mind? Don't you see that before Muhammad was born, birds built their nests and spiders made webs?”

Now that their hopes were dashed, they turned and left. Two big guests stayed there for 3 days and 3 nights.

Allah Almighty says on this subject: “If you do not help the prophet, Allah will help him as He helped him in the past.

When the disbelievers of Mecca drove him out of Mecca, the two of them (with the Prophet's friend, Hazrat Abu Bakr) were in the cave (on Mount Sevres). At that time, the Prophet said to his friend:

“- Don't be sad. Because God (s aid) is with us. "

Finally, Allah sent down His spiritual peace upon the Prophet (and Abu Bakr) and strengthened him with armies you have not seen. Thus, he made the word of those who disbelieved (the cause of shirk) the lowest. Allah is victorious, and wise in His judgment.” (Surat at-Tawba, 40)

Afterwards, they rode on two camels brought by Abdullah, son of Hazrat Abu Bakr (r.a.), and continued on their way. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and his faithful friend...

Realizing that they could no longer find our Prophet (PBUH), the polytheists promised 100 camels to the one who found and brought him when they arrived in the city. On that day, 100 camels were considered a great fortune among the Arabs.

Süreka b Cüş'um, one of the polytheists who was enthusiastic about this, immediately got on his camel and started to follow them. Finally, while he was resting on the side of the road, he saw them, and when he was preparing his camel, the camel stumbled and he himself fell to the ground.

He thought about giving up on this job for a while, but when he remembered the 100 camels to be given, he immediately gathered himself and got on his camel again. He wanted to drive them quickly, but it's impossible! The camel did not go. An extraordinary situation has occurred. Unless the camel wanted to go, its front legs were sinking into the sand, It could not go forward.

Süreka, who came to her senses in the face of this situation, immediately got off her camel, believing that this job would bring great disasters to him, and he went to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and assured them that he would be sure of himself and that he would not do any harm to them.

And he asked our Beloved Prophet (PBUH), who was sent for the salvation of humanity, to forgive him. Süreka later became honored with Islam.

While he was returning, he also turned away those who came in that direction.

Our Beloved Prophet (PBUH), who was sent as a mercy to the worlds, visited Quba on Monday, September 20, 622 AD. There, the Muslims welcomed him with great enthusiasm and love, and they were guests in the house of one of the Kuba notables.

The foundation of the first mosque in Islam was laid there by the blessed hands of the Master of the Universe, our Holy Prophet (PBUH), and all Muslims, especially our Prophet, worked diligently to complete the mosque.

Our Holy Prophet (PBUH), who stayed here for more than 10 days, made his way to Medina. When they came to the valley called Ranuna, the Friday prayer was made obligatory, and our Prophet (PBUH), who conveyed this to his companions, led the first Friday prayer in the Bani Salim neighborhood and delivered the first Friday sermon.

Meanwhile, Muslims in Medina were waiting for the master of the universe with great enthusiasm, love and happiness.

They were climbing on the walls and clapping their hands, looking into the distance at the top of the trees in high places and watching the unique person, Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (S.A.S).

Men, women, young, old, small and large, from 7 to 70, the expressions of happiness and happiness were read on the faces of all Muslims. The joy in the hearts of the Muslims of Medina that day was greater than the joy of a wedding feast and a feast. Because, in a hadith-i qudside, Allah Almighty says: "(My dear Prophet), I would not have created the worlds if it were not for you." Hatemül Anbiya and the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) were going to visit Madina.

Again, one day, the people of Madinah went out to wait for the future and returned to their homes.

That day, a Jew was on the fortification wall on a business.

He saw that Sayyid-i Murselin (S.A.S) was coming from afar.

The mountains and deserts around him were always illuminated by his light. The Jew has no more strength. He wailed and shouted, "O Arab Taife, here comes the stately person you've been waiting for."

The news spread in Madinah and the people, big and small, men and women, wore their beautiful clothes and put on their weapons. They came to Hira on horse and on foot with joy and bliss. They gave praise, admiration and honor. On that day, so much bliss and joy came to the people of Medina that such bliss and joy were not seen.”(Mearcü'n- Prophethood, 6 Fingers)

All the Muslims started running, shedding tears of joy. Everyone was struggling to host the Messenger of Allah in their home.

In order not to hurt them and to please their hearts, they said, "Let the camel go, I will stay where it collapses".

The camel had first collapsed on a plot of land belonging to two orphans from the Neccar family, got up immediately and continued walking. The land where the camel first collapsed was purchased and Masjid an-Nabawi and Hane-i Saadets were built there.

For the second time, he collapsed in a place closest to the house of Hazrat Khalid Abu Ayyub El Ansari.

Thus, the Master of the Universe was a guest in the house of this person from the Companions-i Kiram (who was buried in Eyüp District of Istanbul).

With the honor of our Master, Madina was illuminated, and everywhere became illuminated with his light.

After that, Medina was entitled to receive the title of Medina-i Münevvere.

After the Hijra, a new era began. The conquest of Islam had increased considerably, and Islam had spread to almost all parts of the world.

Let's turn to Islam with all our being, like the Muslims of Medina. Let's hug the Qur'an. Let's try to fully fulfill Allah's orders and avoid His prohibitions.

While our Prophet (PBUH) was describing Islam; While inviting people who are suffering from spiritual depression, material and spiritual crises to the true path, how he suffered the verbal and actual attacks of the polytheists, how he persevered against all these hostilities, and how he made this historical and sacred journey, and let's think about how Hazrat Abu Bakr (r.a.) gave an example of loyalty.

Let's try to be true servants of Allah and a nation worthy of our Prophet (PBUH).

In order to attain the bliss of the two worlds, to attain the intercession of our Prophet (PBUH), to enter Paradise with the friends of Allah, and to watch the beauty of Allah, our Master Fahr-i-Alam (S.A.S):

“I swear by Allah, whose my soul is in His power, that cannot have a complete faith until I become more beloved to one of you than your mother, father, children, nafs and all other people.” (Sahih-i Buhari, Vol.1 P.9). By listening to his hadiths, let's love him more than anything else.

Let's follow his light and blessed path. And let's fulfill its necessities by clinging to the Islamic system in which it was conveyed.

Let us know that the only way of salvation is Islam. Our example on this path is the Master of the Universe, the unique human being, the Mercy to the Worlds, our beloved Prophet (S.A.S).

Our beloved Prophet (PBUH) duly performed this mission of prophecy throughout his life. Although he faced many troubles and was subjected to many attacks by the polytheists, he still showed people the right way. He showed the right path and invited all people to the belief in one God. He spread the light of Islam.

The light of Islam, which spread all over Arabia that day, spread throughout the universe for the sake of that unique person, that Hatemü'l-Anbiya, and the number of Muslims has exceeded two billion as a great blessing of Allah.

When it is the season of pilgrimage, millions of Muslims come to those holy places from all over the world, circumambulating the Kaaba, performing the pilgrimage, visit the ravza-i mutahhara of our beloved Prophet (PBUH), who was sent as a mercy to the worlds.

On this occasion, I congratulate the 1399th Hijri New Year of the 2 billion Muslims living on earth.

Our new Hijri year, our family, our nation, our nation and the Islamic world for charity, peace, I wish to be conducive to the prosperity and happiness.
