Pakistan agrees to buy 4 tugs from Turkey

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has agreed to buy four ASD tugs from Turkey. Pakistan's Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi and Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Ehsan Mustafa Erdakal also attended the signing ceremony.

 

The Port Qasim Authority, Pakistan's largest port, has purchased these tugs for large LNG ships worth 33.4 million. Pakistan's Minister of Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi has invited Turkish company Cinmar, which manufactures tugs, to set up a plant in Pakistan.

 

He said that the Turkish company could benefit from the skilled manpower here and at the same time Pakistan has a skilled manpower at cheaper wages than Turkey.

 

Cinmar thanked the Pakistani Minister for Maritime Affairs for the offer and said he would seriously consider the offer, while the Turkish company will deliver the four tugs to Pakistan in the next 12 months.
