ACCRA: The School of Creative Arts at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has struck a partnership with the Inter Tourism Expo Accra for this year’s event, slated for September 28-30, 2021.
Emmanuel Treku, the CEO of Global Signature and Convener of Inter Tourism Expo, explained that the strategic essence of promoting works of the School of Creative Arts, UEW, is motivated by the urgent need for a holistic involvement of the creative arts industry in its entirety in the expo, further bridging the gap between academia and industry.
The university welcomed the idea to partner in the successful organisation of the 2021 Inter Tourism Expo Accra event.
The Dean of the School of Creative Arts in the University of Education, Dr. Patrique deGraft‐Yankson, chaired the meeting which included Prof. Ernest Kwasi Amponsah, Dean, Students Affairs, UEW; and Dr. Juliana Daniels, the Vice-Dean of Student Affairs, UEW, who also doubles as the liaison for the university and expo management desk.
Departmental heads were also present at the meeting to throw more light on the various creative arts offerings, which include theatre arts, music, graphic design and arts education. The dean of the faculty further organised a tour of the various departments to see the work of students that will be showcased in the expo.
The School of Creative Arts, UEW, is committed to ensuring that students strive for and maintain academic excellence in their various fields of specialisation in the Arts and Culture landscape. In addition, the School prepares students in the Arts as educators, as managers in the promotion of arts and culture, and as artists and artistes who can exploit creative and innovative environments to generate new ideas.
UEW has amazing state of the art facilities, including an ultra-modern production and recording studio for training budding scholars and artisans in the industry.
